World Entrepreneurs facilitates the international mission for the presentation of the initiative “Viveros Creativos” from Colombia in Geneva, October 2019
The Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia, and World Entrepreneurs, Switzerland, presented Colombia’s emblematic initiative “Viveros Creativos” at the first International Expert Meeting on Creative Economy of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), which was held on 29 October 2019 in Geneva. This initiative was selected by UNCTAD to participate in the Expert Meeting to showcase good practices and share experiences on national strategy development within the creative economy.
In 2020, “Viveros” was included within the recommendations of the Colombian Government’s Misión de Sabios for the implementation of the National Strategy on Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in the Cultural and Creative Industries of Colombia. The initiative proposal focuses on the creation of a nation-wide network of multi-sector collaborative centres with the capacity to generate, incubate and promote cultural projects and entrepreneurial initiatives in the creative and cultural industries; and it is expected to contribute to the National Priorities on Sustainable and Inclusive Growth and to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, 5, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 17.
The international mission for the official presentation of this initiative, led by the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, was facilitated by World Entrepreneurs, and supported by key national stakeholders, including the Vice Presidency of Colombia, the Ministry of Culture, Colciencias (presently Ministry of Science) and INNpulsa (Colombia’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Support Institution).
